MAFELEC TEAM at German television!

Five Years Later: WDR Films at Our Company Again, now member of MAFELEC TEAM.

“It’s almost like an occupational hazard: You get on a train and immediately see your own products.”

With a smile, our colleague Roman Wochmjakow describes what many of us feel. When trains in Europe, Asia, or South America open their doors, they often feature technology from Halver, developed and manufactured by TSL-ESCHA.

This special connection between people and products also caught the interest of WDR. The first segment about us began in 2020 with a sequence from our testing laboratory. Now, five years later, the TV team visited us again. On July 29, 2025, reporters Gerrit Saßmann, cameraman Max Bergmann, and sound engineer Jonas Kuhn accompanied our work in production and the lab. The new segment was broadcast in early August on the local news for South and East Westphalia as well as Münster.

In the three-minute film, the WDR team shows how much craftsmanship goes into our products. This flexibility allows us to respond quickly to special customer requests and produce small quantities with short delivery times. The focus was also on our touchless pushbuttons, which provide hygienic, fast, and secure access, making train travel more comfortable for millions of people worldwide.

In the testing lab, the TV team also documented the stress tests: a single pushbutton must withstand up to seven million actuations. Our climate chamber, which simulates temperatures from Arctic cold to tropical heat, was also put to use again.

Alongside the technology, the people behind the products were highlighted. Our colleague Maria Baldin, part of the team for decades, shared: “I enjoy my work, which is why I’ve been here for so long.” Even after her retirement, she plans to continue supporting us.
